Team Positions and Responsibilities
Chain of Command
Team Commander
The Captain is the leader on and off the field. Off the field, he is in charge of the organization and smooth running of the team. On the field, he leads the team into battle and give command and structure to the team. He maintains communication with the scenario commander and passes instruction down to the other team members in order to achieve the team goals. The team captain makes the final decision when conflict occurs.
Squad Leader
A Squad Leader is the next in command below the Team Commander. Each squad leader commands a fire team of 4 to 6 people. It is the squad leaders job to effectively communicate the Commander's orders to the rest of the team. He is expected to maintain cohesion between his squad and command his squad as an effective fighting force that can operate efficiently when cut-off from upper command.
Fire Team Positions
Rifleman
The Rifleman is the backbone of the team. They provide the assault and defense capability of the team. They are expert marksman and fearless combatants. They efficiently follow squad leader commands and work together with their teammates. This person carries a balanced gear kit that includes a full outfit of ammo and enough air to shoot his full complement of ammo. The rifleman is the player that usually gets engaged in firefights.
Stealth Scout
A Stealth unit is a patient person who is good a sneaking behind enemy lines to provide intel back to the main squad. The stealth unit is also good at hit-and-run tactics. Their main purpose is to quietly take out targets, hide, and cause panic in the other team. The stealth unit relies on slow, deliberate movements to go into position and is usually found away from the rest of the squad.
Heavy Gunner
The Heavy Gunner position requires strength, skill, and nerves of steel. This position is the back-bone of suppressing fire movements. They can shoot a lot of paint and have their location be the most known location by the enemy team. This is because of the noise that a rapid firing weapon has. Their main purpose is to deliver so much paint downrange that the enemy huddles in fear behind their bunker, giving the team’s flanking squad a chance to come around and take them out.
Combat Engineer
The Combat Engineer specializes in taking out large groups, buildings, and vehicles where needed. They also must serve a dual purpose by repairing damaged equipment (bunkers, buildings, scenario props, etc.). For this reason, their position should be closer to the back of the squad. They are called in when needed, but can hold their own, if needed, in a fire fight. They are usually not one to get into long confrontations with the enemy since they are usually carrying a Launcher, Mines, or Grenades in addition to their marker. In the area of a Rocket Launcher, the Combat Engineer’s marker is his secondary weapon. They must also remain in constant communication with the squad leaders, and team commander for effective use on the battlefield.
